I’ve got some explaining to do…

Wow… its been basically five months since I’ve made a post. Kinda crazy, right?

I swear, I didn’t forget about this site. Life just has a funny way of taking off.

First thing’s first:

Im sure you’re wondering where the wedding photos are from our wedding back on October 10th. Well, there’s a very good answer to that. They’re sitting on my hard drive. I’ve had them for a while… I’ll hopefully be posting them soon. I was waiting to post them until the thank you cards were sent out. You know, the ones that should have been sent out months ago? Let me just say, procrastination is a very strong skillset I have. That, and the fact that I am a perfectionist. Anyway, hopefully soon.

There haven’t really been any official photoshoots you’ve missed. I made sure to get the third birthday photos up. Other than that, it’s just been random photos here and there, of which my lovely wife has posted on facebook.

Im working on figuring out what to do with my photography stuff. Probably (possibly?) shifting it into a different hosting provider who is better suited to handle photography. But this will still exist, but as a family blog (its original purpose).

I’ve hit a kind of creative rut. I haven’t really been all that inspired to create, which is eating away at my soul. I’ve been creating for a long LONG time; photos, videos, music, crafts, ect. Hell, I made an entire nursery lighting scene in the girls bedroom, with clouds, hot air balloons, ect. The past few months, I just… I don’t know. The inspiration hasn’t quite been there. I think it’s starting to come back to me though. The past two nights have been spent designing for crafts. I so far have four gifts designed, and I feel like more are coming. As the weather gets warmer, hopefully the inspiration to pick up my camera comes back too. As soon as it does, you’ll have more photos of my crazy little lovebugs. They’ve grown so incredibly much since October.

The five month hiatus may have actually been a blessing in disguise. Photoshoots take a decent amount of time. On average, a twenty-five photo shoot is brought out of 700-800 photos, with some going as high as 1200 (like I said, perfectionist). As such, it takes away from time I could be spending with my family. It’s been wonderful just spending this time with them.

With that said… I want to give thanks to my wife. I love you so much more than you realize. Thank you for taking care of them while I pick my way though thousands of photos. Thank you for being there for them while I am off doing whatever it is that life demands of me. Thank you for teaching them. Thank you for just being a great mom. I know I don’t say it enough, and I am sorry about that. But it’s true. Thank you for bringing them into this world with me. And thank you for being my wife; for sticking by my side, through the good and the bad. I love you to the moon and back.

And to you, whomever is reading this, thank you. Thank you for being there supporting us on this journey.

Great things are coming. Wild things. Crazy things. Things that could only be possible through the love shared between a husband and wife brought together by God. No, not that… but maybe someday. Anyway, stay tuned. We can’t wait to share in this journey with you. As Ephesians 3:3 says,

“that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief.”

We’ll let you know as we know, what God has in store for us.

I leave you with this:

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;

the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
